NICEC
The NICEIC is an independent voluntary body for electrical installation matters throughout the UK. They offer certification services, Building Regulations Schemes, products and support to electrical contractors and other trades within the construction industry.
The Electrical Safety Council
The Electrical Safety Council (ESC) is an independent charity committed to reducing deaths and injuries through electrical accidents at home and at work. They are supported by all sectors of the electrical industry as well as local and central government and work to promote safety and good practice.
Part P Electrical Safety
A new set of regulations (Approved Document P), which control electrical safety in dwellings, came into force on the 1 January 2005. These new electrical safety regulations require anyone carrying out electrical work in dwellings to ensure that it is designed, installed, inspected and tested in order to protect persons from fire or injury. Information must also be provided that will enable anyone to operate, maintain and alter an electrical installation safely.
